The Mini-dissertation begins with a discussion of development aid as a promoter for good governance and political transformation, which includes the practice of citizen participation and collaborative governance as tools of governance and political transformation. This mini-dissertation proposes the further development of citizen participation and collaborative governance in South Africa. This is driven by the conviction that more can be done to enhance the practice of the two concepts in the current democratic dispensation and moral standing of the country. The study further gives various perspectives as to how the process of citizen participation and collaborative governance is already taking place. However the researcher contends that more can be done to improve the practice of the concepts, so that all who could be involved in the process get on board.en_ZA
