Intended as a means of preparing students from historically black high schools for tertiary admission and to facilitate their transition to tertiary education, the Career Preparation Programme (CPP) has been in operation at the University of the Orange Free State since 1993. This paper reports the results of an investigation into the long-term effectiveness of rhe CPP.
