    Abstract
English:The research in this dissertation undertaken investigates the possibility of introducing class actions into the legal framework of South Africa. The acceptance thereof, will be promulgated by the enactment of legislation proposed by the South African Law Commission. The proposals are the result of the research undertaken by various persons and bodies indicating the need thereof and the acceptation of a constitutional class action. The acceptance of the proposals of the Law Commission is discussed and explained as the background of the historical and comparative perspective set out in the dissertation. In conclusion the dissertation investigates the possible effect of the procedure on specific fields of entrepreneurial law.
