It is argued that cognitively important aspects of boredom are ignored by these theorists and suggest ways in which such shortcomings in the treatment of boredom may be addressed in future studies.Afrikaans: Hierdie artikel ondersoek teoretiese pogings om aandag op die hoogs verwaarloosde fenomeen van “verveling” te vestig en te evalueer tot watter mate teoretici daarin slaag om dit te verhelder.
